On Thursday Iā€™m interviewing Tamie Wilson, a Democrat in the 4th District here in Ohio who is running against Jim (Gym) Jordan. This interview is for my ReMarkable! podcast. Though her winning is a long shot, at least she is trying. And who knows? She may win, thereby removing an appalling Representative from Congress.

So glad to hear it, Mark! You know the saying ā€“ you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. The results of the special election in Ohio's 6th prove that we can make a heckuva lot of progress in a short amount of time. Looking forwarding to listening to the episode!

Great! I just followed your podcast on Spotify! Now if we could get Jim Banks... lol

I believe the 1000 page Project 2025 will be broken down by some Democrats into a condensed bullet point read so MORE people will have access and a quick understanding of Tyranny 2025.

Absolutely! Johnson is involved directly in the plot to steal America - a MAGA through & through!

Excellent post!

We should be clear that Mike Johnson is very dangerous.

So far he has shown some real political shrewdness. It would honestly not surprise me if he turns out to be as influential and dangerous as Mitch McConnel.

To address your main point, you're 100% spot on. These people should be opposed at every step. Never make it easy for them.

So true - we underestimate him at our peril. And thatā€™s my goal: No more free passes for the GOP. When we fight, we make them fight back. Itā€™s high time we did that everywhere.

Agreed.

We have to fight back.

And we can't just be on the defensive. We also have to get about the business of building something better.

Just my 2 cents.

Michele, Thanks for the shoutout. Both DemsMakeLifeBetter.org and BeantownStrong.org have seen big bumps in t-shirt sales. Iā€™m not financially connected to either but Iā€™ve befriended the owners through my reviews.

Andā€¦ I believe my livelihood is reliant on Joe Biden being reelected.

šŸ›’šŸ‘• If you see anyone at the grocery store in a Biden shirtā€¦ definitely give them a šŸ¤œšŸ¤›!

I was so happy to share your idea! Thank you for sharing it with me (and, well, with everyone!). Iā€™m going to be sporting my Biden t-shirt on my next shopping trip.

Iā€™ll add that the back of the Dems Make Life Better shirt is basically the table of contents for a ā€œBiden-backed project 2025.ā€

Not even elected. Won by default. What a mockery of our democracy.

Thanks tons! First time Iā€™ve seen this reported.

Mike Johnson was not elected, is my take.

The current governor in that state received about 15% of the eligible vote. 15%! ( arithmetic ). But it is reported as ā€˜51%ā€™ because that was the fraction of the turnout. Itā€™s not a democracy, and the Democratic party ought to be explaining why. The prior governor was a Democrat! And Carville . . . ?

Your revelations of other House members anointed in the same damn way should not have surprised me, but it did. Thanks for the wake up! ā€” b.rad

After reading the Pā€™25 foreword, I have two questions; what in the name of the everlasting gobstopper is ā€˜creaturelinessā€™, and what does ā€˜preening cowardiceā€™ look like exactly? Their inability to coherently express themselves is in tandem with their contempt for soooo many Americans.

This sounds like an excellent event! I'm very, very glad you're helping folks learn how to engage with voters who are living overseas ā€“ but not *just* because they might help a candidate get a winning edge. We need to engage with those voters simply because they are people and potential constituents, and expanding the field of play is important for progress. (This isn't a criticism, just reiterating my whole thesis and reason for being: that we need to broaden our vision of "success" beyond who gets a checkmark beside their name on election day. Your work here does that, and I hope you'll share more ways for folks to get engaged!)

I certainly agree. No voters are erased, ignored or invalidated as much as our friends and neighbors who happen to wear a uniform or step outside the country. Very few vote--not because they aren't interested but because no one asks! And they do really appreciate it when they ARE seen and remembered - not as winning edge but as people who are part of a community.

Imagine how empowering it is to remind someone they matter! To give them the tools to vote! Maybe for the first time - and far from home

I think my single biggest frustration with the DNC is the unending fundraising emails while not running and supporting meaningful nominees in every district.

Dems in red states are left out in the cold with no representation at all. It's impossible to contact Dems in other districts (despite my dollars supporting the party - and ultimately them) and Republican Reps have no interest in my priorities because they have their own MAGA agenda.

Lori, this is such a common refrain ā€“ you're not alone in this sentiment at all. It's incredibly frustrating for red state Democrats to be boxed out of representation. And the problem you're identifying is the exact one I'm trying to solve, too. Not running and supporting nominees in every district leaves a lot on the table, and means we lose ground rather than make progress. I hear you! (Also, and I really don't mean to make this into a pitch, but if you're interested in joining groups of folks like you who are focused on this issue, check out our Every State Blue communities in Ohio, Missouri, Tennessee, and nationally with Forgotten Democrats ā€“ https://everystateblue.org/)

Banana Republicans are never FOR anything, except when in power. Look at the stark contrast between the bare majority in the Senate and the bare majority in the House!

So true, Robert ā€“ they're more interested in destroying than building. Yet another reason why we need to retake the House, keep the Senate, and re-elect Joe!

There are no coincidences. We have 2 explanations for why so many districts went uncontested, negligence or malfeasance. Neither is okay. Remember the US was founded by genocidal psychopaths to keep slavery which was starting to be phased out in the UK in 1772 and abolished in 1799. The American Revolution was fought to keep slavery going. The Civil War wasn't fought to free the enslaved, it was fought because slavery was made illegal on lands acquired by the Louisiana Purchase.

As a Texan, I appreciate this. We should not be lost and abandoned by the rest of the country. There are Democrats in every state and we need support to get out from under the heel of our Republican oppressors. Especially when they are doing everything they can to suppress voting.
