As we have been watching the confirmation hearings today of Hegseth one could feel a little helpless, but we always have stories that inspire and move us to action. Thank you! I wonder how many leaflets we could hand out on Monday.💙
Thanks Michele — now it makes so much more sense, eye opening, and it’s a sharp lesson in how to create ‘spontaneous’ widespread action ! cheers, b.rad
Another part of the story was that a woman organizer planned to sit in the white section and allow herself to be arrested. Dr. king got involved with the plan. However, he asked her to step down as he had an experienced civil rights worker to step in and do the plan. That is the history most know about.
In respect of the phone calls, MO Sen. Eric Schmitt is on the Armed Services Committee and will be in a prime position to oppose the Hegseth nomination. He probably won't, as he's shown no evidence of principle or courage required to oppose the Felon President-elect, but the more calls he gets, the greater the possibility.
Excellent story. I had never heard anything about Jo Ann Robinson. It's always people working all night that move things.

Yes! Thank you. I'm making 3 calls today - about Hegseth, about immigration, and about LGBTQ legislation. Grateful for your work.
