Oh, and also my family installed a VPN this weekend. I recommend it for increased Internet privacy, as well as locking down your data on Meta and other socials.
We used Surfshark. My husband did all the research. We installed it on all the devices in the house: computers, ipads, phones. So far so good. https://surfshark.com/
"And you’re not just needed for phone calls or postcards or donations or to finish all of the items on a weekly list." I wish someone would notify the national fundraising corps about that, especially the donations part. With the next election 17 months away I'm already getting at least a half dozen emails a day from the usual suspects letting me know that if I don't give whatever I can afford right now Trump's takeover will be permanent and the world as we know it will end. Your point #1 about anger was very well taken, but that seems to be the only message that gets put out.
You're welcome, Dave! And yes – the relentless push for donations can be really off-putting. We need to support our nominees, and we need to support organizations. But there's more to messaging than dollars and I sure wish more folks on the left would treat their lists as true communication tools (see, eg Liz Warren, AOC) – not just an electronic ATM. That's largely the result of certain consultants, to be honest. But it's hurting our engagement, our community, and our party, and we need to discuss it head-on.
‘ Remember that you stand on the shoulders of regular people. We hear all the time that we stand on the shoulders of giants – great, inspiring characters whose words reverberate through the years.’
Not sure whose shoulders I can stand on because I will not stand on the shoulders of the wimpy Dems who handed the keys over to a lunatic, justifying their non-action by talking about the rule of law. The Rule of Law, an idea developed fully by the colonial UK as a colonial power to justify their colonial thievery.
Interestingly, I still get Dem requests to send money without any information about how the money will be used except from some undefined staying together. I respond to ask they not contact me again. Words, words, words from the Dems.
Michele, thank you, from the very bottom of my heart - for everything you do. I was not ready to read this on Tuesday, I was entirely too triggered, but I spent some time today, and as always, it was time well spent. ❤️

Can you share what VPN you installed? I've just started researching that. Do you use VPNs for your home computer/laptop and your phones? Thanks!
I second that question!
See my answer above (or below, never sure).

This is so inspiring, and the take action offerings are very helpful!
I’m so glad Mianne! Thank you! 💙
I'll be refilling my lighter fluid for years. Unless it just turns into hysterical laughter at the absurdity of it all.
Ha! Well, humor is a great coping strategy so there’s that. 😂🫠
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this wisdom, garnered over the past 8+ years. Thanks for sharing this gift with us.
Thank you, Hans! 💙
Thank you for all you do
I called my senators and opposed Pete Hegseth. I'm in TX, so I'm sure they will vote for him.
Thank you this was needed today.
Thank you

The resource recommendations are welcome, thanks.

Fanstatic Article with easily doable Calls to Action. It's going to take all of us --many small deeds. TY
