And if Joe Biden or Barack Obama or pick a past president had let his mucho rich buddy do this very thing imagine the whining!

And if Joe Biden and Barack Obama got together and issued a statement, imagine what a boost that would be to the opposistance (us)!

Exactly. It’s very tough in the United States. You don’t have an official opposition like we do in a Westminster parliamentary system. The leader of the opposition in Canada would be screaming. And if the opposition was strong enough—with enough members—they could vote the government out. Potentially.

You keep referring to the Democrats have to act. Who is that?

Your system works until there is a coup. Sending all the emotional support I can. But Trump just screwed us, his closet ally. And that was probably the plan: to isolate America from the world.

The Democrats we're looking for action from are the elected officials and those recently in office. They are supposed to be both the official opposition and the conscience of the minority.

Exactly! Why isn’t anyone other than Schumer saying much! Are they complicit in some way?

You're absolutely right. This is a fire and dems need to start showing some spine. I wasn't terribly impressed with Speaker Jeffries' letter, but maybe after meeting with Whip Katherine Clark we'll see more fire. Luckily Elizabeth Warren is my Senator, and she's one of the people speaking up. We need more! As you said, it's time to activate our personal networks and whatever platforms we have.

The reaction on Monday blew up the Senate phone system with 1200-1500 calls per minute coming in to a system designed to handle 30-50. Today was better; I spoke with one Senate staffer and left VM for the other. Probably won't change either vote but I'll call again tomorrow and on until we get a positive response. Some aggressive action from elected Democrats in safely Blue states would be wonderfully reinforcing and the news that Chuck Schumer was resigning as Minority Leader in favor of someone who didn't think this was business as usual would be OK too.

Laws are broken. Privacy Act violations out the kazoo. Who will indict? Congress has some powers to appropriate leave for the Federal workforce. Truth and ridicule are two potent weapons against the mass psychosis. I too look for a way to extract the country from the mass psychosis. Few stop to think about the root cause of this dilemma, but Carl Jung understood it well. Mass psychosis is the advent of deluded people. You see those questioned at a Trump rally and you say “How can they be that deluded?” And then you forget about that delusional interview you just watched with YOUR OWN EYES. You do not do the next step: add it all up. It adds up to Mass Psychosis. You are led by a psychopathic neo-fascist that has deluded masses of people. https://open.substack.com/pub/hotbuttons/p/comes-a-time?r=3m1bs&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true

Remember one of the authors of project 2025 stated in a TV interview that the take over will happen and if the Democrats resist there will be bloodshed. Then we had Biden and Harris act like nothing was unusual while with pride offered the peaceful transfer of power to these lunatics. Of course Garland was afraid to throw Trump in jail but happy to appoint a Trump appointed prosecutor to go after Hunter Biden. And Biden stood back and took it. I’m sorry, but it’s too late to wait for the Democrats to come to the rescue. It’s obvious when musk and his minions were not arrested over the weekend that they are now above the law with the entire right wing behind them.
